The North Dakota Museum of Art collects contemporary and international artworks from all different mediums, including a survey of paintings, weavings, and other pieces from modern Native American culture. Its permanent collection includes works from such notable figures as the landscapist Nancy Friese, photographer Jim Dow, and the printmaker Xu Bing. Marked by a gorgeous glass and limestone entryway, the museum lies at the heart of the University of North Dakota campus, in the former women's gymnasium.
